Sugar-free me – the results!

After six weeks of being (mostly) sugar-free, here are the results:

  • my energy levels are more stable, and I no longer get that terrible late-afternoon tiredness
  • my teeth feel lovely and clean
  • I have lost 5lb in weight
  • my waist measurement has decreased by 5cm (2″), which means it is now less than half my height
  • my clothes fit me better and feel more comfortable

After the first couple of weeks it actually became much easier to resist sugary food and drink, because I craved it less. Lots of things I used to like taste horribly sweet if I try them now.

So it’s all good, and I’m going to stay off the sugar from now on, apart from a couple of portions of fruit a day, some good quality dark chocolate and the occasional piece of birthday cake.

    I have started to cut back on the sugar and noticed a dfference too. Its amazing the change it makes x

      Yes it is amazing the difference it makes. I feel so much better now than I did a couple of months ago x

    Wow I have huge admiration for you! I don’t like sweets but love my fruit and natural sugars like honey.

      I love fruit too, and could never give it up. What I no longer eat is doughnuts and biscuits and things like that.

    Well done, amazing achievement. I don’t think I could do it for so long but I might start with a day and see how it goes.

    You’re looking really great 🙂 I’m not cutting sugar out completely at the moment, but have seriously reduced my consumption since my op. Haven’t noticed any visible difference yet, but this is a long-term change for me so who knows!

    It sounds like you have made some really great progress! Its something I have thought about doing before but I just don’t know if I have the will power lol! x

    It is amazing how much sugar affects you isn’t it – I had GD when pregnant and still eat better now. It is shocking how much sugar is in foods

    That’s fantastic! Well done. I’m becoming more aware of the sugar I’m consuming. I like sugar in my tea and coffee but I’m having less in other areas – not eating sweets or chocolate as much!

    awww honey well don you for sticking to it lovely 🙂 i detoxed off sugar for a while and felt great .. but now its back again 😦

    Fabulous results – well done for sticking to you. It’s amazing how much better you feel but just cutting back a little. I notice the energy slump disappears when I eat better
