New shoes from Hotter

September 7, 2011

I’m really excited about my new shoes from Hotter Shoes which arrived this week.

I didn’t used to get so excited about shoes, because my feet are broad across the toes and narrow at the heel with a high instep, so it was nigh on impossible to find shoes that fitted and were comfortable without resorting to boring black lace-ups. When I was pregnant my feet got even broader across the toes and it became even more difficult to find comfortable footwear. So I pleased and amazed to find that Hotter Shoes do some lovely and not at all frumpy styles in an extra wide fitting.

The first pair I bought, a couple of years ago, were the ‘Charleston’ style, in black. The photo below shows these shoes, which have been worn several times a week for two years but are still going strong.

My first pair of Hotter shoes

This style works particularly well for me because there is sufficient width in the toes but the strap stops my narrow heel from sliding out of the shoe. The shoes are also really smart, with a bit of a heel, but extremely comfortable and good for pavement pounding. And they’re actually very lightweight so it means I can always take them with me on holiday without worrying that they’ll make my suitcase too heavy. I liked this style so much I bought three more pairs – a second pair in black, plus grey and purple pairs.

But then this autumn the ‘Charleston’ style was no more. And then I saw that there was a new style called ‘Valetta’ which was very much like the ‘Charleston’ but with extra detailing. And it was available in Teal which is one of my absolute favourite colours!!! So I bought some.

Trying on my new shoes

The photo above shows me trying on the new Valetta shoes (with black socks because that is what I happened to be wearing). They fit perfectly and I’m looking forward to wearing them them with teal tights and a dress.

If you want to see better photos of the shoes, and maybe buy a pair yourself, they can be found here.

I was planning to write this post anyway, but coincidentally this week’s theme for The Gallery is ‘shoes’. Have a look at the other The Gallery – Shoes posts.

You write about them so well this could be a review in which case you would be in for some freebies. My Mum liked these shoes too. Valetta reminds me of Malta of course. I like the style

Thanks for the feedback Kate. I’m just so pleased to find shoes that fit and which are also gorgeous!

Wouldn’t say no to freebies if they were on offer but I’m fairly new to this game at the moment…
