BritMums – What’s in your handbag?

August 16, 2011

I’m a relatively new member of BritMums, the largest parent blogging social network in the UK. BritMums has been a very good place for me to find hints and tips and other parent bloggers. And they recently posed the question “What’s in your handbag?” and said that they wanted photos of the contents of members’ handbags, arranged in a square. This is mine.

The contents of my handbag

Name: Ruth J (aka Minibreak Mummy)

Number of Children: 1

Blog: https://minibreakmummy.com/

Date of Photo: 16 August, 2011

Row by row, left to right: London street map, emergency cross-stitch kits, Kindle and case, chewing gum, notebook and pen, umbrella, sunhat, scrunched-up cloth shopping bag, stripy key case, healthy ‘graze’ box snack, sunglasses, ‘One Day’ flipback, iPhone, Alpen bar, folding comb/mirror, starry cloth purse, lip balms, ID badge, PacLite waterproof jacket.

You may notice that, with my sunhat and sunglasses and my umbrella and waterproof jacket, I’m prepared whatever the weather. I don’t always carry a London street map but I seem to be in London fairly frequently at the moment, including my recent Escaped Mums jaunt. If the photo had been taken in the morning, there would have been some fresh fruit and dark chocolate in the bag, but these have now been eaten.

One reason for doing this is that I want to see What’s in Your Handbag – so I very much hope you’ll be inspired to do the same as me, if you haven’t already.

I’m currently using a Healthy Back Bag* which holds a surprising amount without pulling my back and shoulders out of shape.
