Buxton Pavilion Gardens

June 28, 2011

Buxton is one of my favourite places to take my little boy. We tend to base ourselves in the Pavilion Gardens

Here’s why:

  • lots of space to run around and play
  • we all enjoy riding on the miniature train that trundles round the park
  • and if that weren’t enough excitement, there is also a train-shaped climbing frame in the toddler play area
  • there is an excellent cafe with a lovely toy corner, so we can eat delicious food in peace
  • the fish inside the pavilion don’t seem to mind having a toddler gawping at them
  • there are interesting events and fairs most weekends
  • I get chance to pop in some nice shops, including one that sells handmade chocolate truffles and another that sells gorgeous toys

Let me know if you’ve found anything good in Buxton that I’ve missed!

You’ll find some great mid-week theatre for the under 5s at the Opera House and the Pavillion too.

I think one of the reasons we go there is that it is between where we live now and where I grow up. So I used to go there with my parents when I was a child, and we sometimes go there on the way to or from my parents’ house.
