Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse Review – updated

May 5, 2012

Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse

So it’s May. A time of year when I would normally need to wear sunscreen just to pop out for a lunchtime sandwich. And I’m keen to protect my little boy from the sun too. So when Blog-Match.com asked for volunteers to review Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse I signed us up.

But the weather is not at all summery, and does not seem to have been for weeks. We have had lots of rain and cold temperatures day after day. So we haven’t had much call for sunscreen.

I feel I still ought to write a review though. Fortunately, I am much more impressed by Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse than I have been with the weather.

The main thing that is great about it is that it’s a mousse! So it is much nicer to use than a lotion. You press the nozzle down to squirt the mousse out, rather like squirty cream. The mousse is easy to spread on skin and forms a thin protective layer which is quite dry to the touch. Not at all like a gloopy lotion. Anyone who has battled to put sun cream on a wriggly toddler will know how difficult it can be. This sun screen mousse is much easier to apply.

It is also much harder to rub off than lotion, and seems to stay put rather than threatening to slide from the forehead to the eyes. And it doesn’t make hair sticky and greasy looking.

I’m very impressed that the sunscreen is factor 50 and UVA 4 stars. Also, I trust Sudocrem. And I think it is important to use a sunscreen I can trust.

So when the summer finally arrives I will definitely be using Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse to protect myself and my little boy from the harmful effects of the sun.

Update: since I wrote this review there has been some more summery weather and we have been using Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse on an almost daily basis. It is an absolutely great product, and much easier to put on a wriggly toddler than conventional suncream. I’m just about to buy another can.

Disclosure: I was given a free can of Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse for the purposes of writing this review. All views expressed are my own and if I had not been so impressed with the product I would have said so.

I’m a blue eyed, natural blonde with very fair skin. I can turn from alabaster to lobster in less than an hour!

I shall definitely be keeping an eye out for this. For me, it’s almost a must-have :)

I am genuinely very impressed with this product. We’ve been using it this week and will definitely buy some more when it’s gone.

This is the only suncream I’ve found so far that doesn’t bring my children out in red raw eczema. It’s paraben, fragrance and preservative free – something normally only assoiated with creams available from herbalists or eco stores. Just wish I had a free bottle – £15 from Boots. Ouch! But better than red raw bleeding skin…
